Village Weather Update: 12/18/23 2PM

2 pm Rt 17 in Sloatsburg is open in both directions

1:30pm.

*** Rt 17 N from 15a to Sterlingmine Road is open, you can not go further than SM Rd. South bound in the village is open.

Rt 17 n/b s/b by Jessie’s bagels is still closed.****

The village and the county are experiencing a large rain event causing flooding throughout our region.

It is advised that you do NOT attempt to commute to work at this time as there is major flooding at all the village entrances and exits. Even if you were to manage to exit the village our surrounding areas are also experiencing heavy flooding. There are reports of numerous water rescues from vehicles.

Our Police Fire and Ambulance Services must be allowed to perform their duties without being blocked by stranded vehicles.

How to Report an Outage

If you experience a power outage, don’t assume that O&R automatically knows about it. You can report it and check to see when your lights will be back on through:

· Report an Electric Service Problem | Orange & Rockland (oru.com) from any computer or web-based mobile device.

· O&R mobile app from your iPhone, iPad or Android device --- download via Apple Store or Google Play.

· Text messaging by texting “OUT” to 69678 (myORU) or

· Call 1-877-434-4100.
